Ruminant District Sales Manager
Location:  Indiana or WI, MI, OH, PA, or NY

The Ruminant District Sales Manager position will be critical in providing leadership in execution and delivery of the hiring company’s Sales Plans within the US ruminant marketplace.  The District Sales Manager will be responsible for delivering sales targets, directing, and supporting a team of four sales people responsible for ruminant sales in the beef and/or dairy segments in the Northeast, Southeast, Upper Midwest and California. This will include being responsible for some specific identified accounts as well as hiring, coaching and developing a sales team. The Ruminant District Manager will also be required to work closely with Field Technical Managers, Marketing and peer district sales managers in developing ruminant strategy, specific sales action plans, Business Manager development/training plans and customer specific selling plans for his/her specific area of responsibility.  Preference for the position is to live in the Indiana or WI, MI, OH, PA, or NY.
 
Key Accountabilities:

Responsible for delivering sales targets for ruminant customers in his/her specific area of responsibility
Hiring and Developing Business Manager Team Members to deliver value to targeted customers and markets.
Lead product training and skill development initiatives for specific Ruminant Sales Team; New employee technical training and on-going training on sales and influence and leadership skills.
Planning and implementing District Sales Action Plans with Business Managers and Tech Managers that will deliver business and provide customer value.
Deliver Sales results for Identified “House Accounts” that District Manager will have primary sales responsibility for.
Represent sales issues and priorities with Marketing and Sr. Management relative to development of ruminant business strategy, tactics and tools required for success.
With his/her sales team identify and coordinate company’s involvement in key ruminant industry technical conferences, trade show events and symposia within the designated geography.
Develop and cultivate relationships with key University Influencers within designated business geography.

 
What we need from you:

S., M.S, PhD., and/or DVM degree and experience in Ruminant or Animal Agriculture related field
Demonstrated ability to work in a team based environment
Selling and or Influence experience within Agriculture or related fields.
10 years’ experience working within the US Beef or Dairy industry
Public Speaking and Platform skills
Passion for People and willingness to grow and develop a team and individual team members
Working knowledge of Windows based programs and applicable data analytical programs
Willingness to travel 30-50%
