Our Client is a leading producer of frozen food products for the retail and food service markets throughout the United States. We have three farming operations located in Tappen, ND, Little Falls, MN and Perham, MN.

 

Reporting to the Manager – Raw Procurement, the Coordinator – HSE and HR will facilitate the development, management and maintenance of the HSE programs, and policies for the farming operations, to ensure compliance, enhance overall performance, and continually improve HSE requirements among all employees. The successful applicant will also work closely with our operational sites to support seasonal recruitment and HR administration requirements for the farm departments.
Qualifications:

  • Education Required:  Completion of post-secondary education in Health and Safety, Business, Human Resources or in a related field
  • Years of Experience Required: 1-3 years’ experience with demonstrated skills in both Human Resources administration and operational application of Health and Safety programs
  • Experience in an agricultural or operational environment will be considered an asset
  • Results driven and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated professional maturity and ability to handle confidential information

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Providing guidance and direction on HSE program and procedural development and implementation
  • Develop, facilitate, and maintain records of training on all aspects of HSE including environmental and operational regulations and standards
  • Perform regular site inspections and work with site staff to improve safety at site
  • Ensure regulatory compliance regarding fuel, fertilizer and pesticide storage, and Provincial/State Environmental and Safety regulations
  • Conduct or assist in incident investigations and workplace inspection and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain and track records of recordable safety and environmental Issues, as well as perform analysis of measures and develop strategies to address issues identified
  • Ensures HR Fundamentals/HR processes are delivered on time and in alignment with our clients standards, including
  • Provide seasonal recruitment support to farm departments, ensuring farms are staffed for planting and harvest.
