Dairy Territory Sales Manager

Due to expansion and growth, a Dairy Territory Sales Manager position has become covering the Texas & New Mexico Dairy Market.

This hybrid role encompasses both a sales element as well as providing technical support on reproduction to veterinarians and dairy producers. The successful candidate would have previous experience and knowledge of dairy and/or beef reproduction, as well as awareness of the current regulations surrounding the dairy and beef industries.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and nurturing productive business relationships with key accounts
  • Creating demand for product and service offerings to Veterinarians and Dairy Producers
  • Provide training for customers and their staff to further develop their knowledge and technical skills around reproductive management
  • Overall management of the Territory to achieve sales and growth objectives
  • Provide insight to the Marketing Manager into the target market, to assist with the Company’s marketing strategy
  • Achieve sales targets monthly, quarterly and yearly
  • Produce sales forecasts for territory
  • Cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers
  • Represent the organization at trade shows and industry events

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years dairy or beef industry sales experience
  • Degree in Animal Science or related field
  • Additional knowledge of bovine reproduction a benefit
  • Knowledge of the local dairy industry with established relationships
  • Strong business acumen, organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of effective marketing of technical products
  • Drive for Results
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Motivated & self-directed to successfully complete & deliver project & assignment results
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

This individual will work closely with the Poultry Sales and Marketing Manager. This is a dual role that will focus on interacting with integrators and veterinarians in the broiler industry from a technical perspective while supporting the sales efforts of the QTI team. Other responsibilities include conducting posting sessions as well as assisting in the management of trials with local universities.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Good contacts with the commercial broiler integrators’ veterinarians.
  • Effective and timely communication skills; both written and oral
  • Self starter, motivated, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial
  • Ability to work in teams and across functional areas of the organization
  • Proficient computer skills and basic analytical knowledge

 

Additional Preferences:

  • MAM certified.

 

Educational Requirements:

This individual will be responsible for Poultry research, new product development and managing the commercial trials for the company. The Poultry Tech Services Manager will assist in taking products from the lab environment and out to the field to ensure proper implementation. This role requires the individual to have a good understanding of Poultry diseases and production issues.

 

Basic Requirements:

Job Purpose: Build Customer relationships, solve customer challenges and help customer to be profitable; therefore leading to company profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Agronomic Sales and consulting

  • Promote available product lines.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plan with Director, Sales & Marketing.
  • Conduct producer meetings and education sessions.
  • Resolve customer complaints.
  • Assist customers, both walk-in and in the field, with product and pricing information. Interpret his/her needs.  Assist with load outs as necessary.
  • Work with Sales Manager to:
    • Grow existing customer business; by building trust and relationships with customers.
  • Prospect new business.
    • Review monthly goals.
    • Assess customer needs and/or potential concerns through proficient field scouting.
    • Perform soil and tissue testing.  Interpret results and provide recommendation.
    • Utilize CRM (contact manager/database) to maintain sales notes and information.
    • Assist customers with financing options.
    • Secure and verify information for customer credit check prior to completing the sale.  Communicate terms accordingly.
    • Provide superior customer service both before and after the sale.
    • Develop crop plans and ideas that are cutting edge, creative and effective.
    • Collaborate with Grain in providing both grain marketing and crop consulting services to our producers.

 

Training/Education

  • Develop training schedule, plan & curriculum to educate PA & OH staff, and customers.
  • Day to day training and instruction with staff on weed ID, products, agronomic principles.

Miscellaneous Support

  • Assist other departments within Deerfield Farms Service, Inc. as necessary.

Education: Minimum of an agriculture related Associate Degree.  Bachelors Degree preferred.

Experience: 1-3 Years of job related experience necessary.

Skills & Abilities:

Verbal and written communication skills; persuasion; active listening; basic PC skills including Microsoft Office software applications; time management; ability to “read” the customer (social perceptiveness); ability to read and understand product guides and analysis; ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations; ability to create and maintain effective relationships with customers and team members; mathematic capability including algebraic and geometric applications; ability to drive a truck with trailer in tow; and mechanical aptitude.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of weed and pest identification; understanding of the local geography and soil types/fertility; product knowledge; general knowledge of accounting principles and the analysis of financial data (margins, etc.); general understanding of grain markets helpful; knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services; understanding of crop production.

Licenses:
